Engineering - Fire Control

In the workplace employee safety is paramount and so when one engineering company asked us to come up with a solution that would ensure the protection of their workforce we knew we had to provide a top-class solution.

In a dock area there was a potential fire hazard on the water surface near the dock edge. This, of course, needed to be controlled to protect the employees working in that area.

To remedy this problem a full cone ultra-wide nozzle was positioned on the edge of the dock giving coverage extending from the edge of the dock out over the water surface. The nozzles produced a fine water coverage and also a fine mist to blanket any fire to help guard against any potential fires. These were positioned along the full length of the dock giving total coverage.

An automatic and manual override control system was installed to increase the control and subsequently the safety of the workers.

 

How did we do it?

TF Spiral Full Cone 

The TF spiral full cone nozzle is highly energy efficient with a high discharge velocity.

It is a one-piece construction with no internal parts, and is clog resistant.

It is available with a wide range of flow rates and spray angles.

It is used for cooling, dust control, fire protection, humidification, and fogging & misting.

It can be constructed from brass, SS316, PVC, PTFE, and polypropylene.
